I beg to report that the final measure- -ments for work done under Contract No. 28 of 1912 for the construction of a masonry dan and contingent works at Taitar- -Tuk have been signed this day by the Contractors and myself.

The contract amount for the works was $1,780,681 and since the Contract was signed two extra works which were not covered by the sum of $100,000 which was pro- -vided in the contract for extra works and charges have been added to it. These extra works are the widening of the road- -way over the dam from 13' 6" to 16' 6" at m estimated cost of $15,000 and the approached road to the dam from the pump- -ing main road at an estimated cost of 88,000. Adding these two amounts (823,000) to the contract amount (1,780,681) the estimated cost of the completed works becomes $1,803, 61. The actual cost on final measurements is £1.809.143 an excess of only 85,462 over the estimate which is equivalent to about 1/3%.
